We have a bunch of these TM-T88IV receipt printers, and they are all currently connected via USB. This is a mess, as it requires third-party software and a user to be logged into the 'controlling' PC to allow receipts to print. So, I figured I'd look into switching over to a network adapter card. I bought one UB-E04 card and installed it in a printer. I can access the card via its web UI, control the IP address with DHCP, and all the things one would expect from a network device.

However, as soon as I power the printer on, the only response I get from the printer itself is a fast, 6-blink error light. I can't feed paper, or do anything else. It is the same response that happens when there is no adapter card inserted at all. Hp Smart Update Manager Isotope on this page. As soon as I put the old USB adapter card back in, the error light goes away, and the printer is happy again. It almost seems as though the printer can't see the card, even though it is powering it just fine. All the online documentation says that this card is supported by this printer.

I checked the DIP switches, and set SW 2-8 to 'ON' (it was actually already set that way). Anyone have ideas? Not sure if you've seen this. How long did you wait until trying to print a self test? See user's guide P17 ' Turn on the printer equipped with the UB-E04, then after 20 seconds or longer, press and hold the push button to the right of the LAN connector for about 3 seconds to print the status sheet. Once printing starts, release the push button.

Press the push button with a thin object such as a tweezers.' The self test according to this is done by pushing the push button on the UB-E04 and not the printer itself. I also have the old UB-E03 thats no longer available, but that works w/ every model of the TM-T88 I've tried, III, IV, and V. It looks to me in spite what the manual stays the UB-E04 is not compatible w/ the TM-T88IV. Thanks for that input! I have just ordered the UB-E03 from Amazon, so we'll see how that one goes. If that fixes my issue, I will be sure to mark your post as the answer to my question! Hp Pre Installed Programs Registry.

**EDIT** You were right! The E03 worked flawlessly! I guess the E04 is not compatible with the TM-T88IV after all! I will add, however, that we have a single TM-T88V (one model newer) that won't work with the E03 now. Perhaps I should have kept the E04 and tried it with that model! Unfortunately, I wasn't aware that we had this particular printer (they all looked the same to me!), so this just adds to the confusion. At least I got all the other ones to work!
